Hans Eggenberger Foundation extends support for the UZH Entrepreneur Fellowship Program

News

The Hans Eggenberger Foundation has extended its financial support for the UZH Entrepreneur Fellowship Program for another three years. The foundation has been an important partner of the program since 2021 and it’s donation supports digital innovation projects.

Over the past three years, four young researchers have been supported in advancing their promising ideas for digital innovations. These include Merens Derungs, who holds a doctorate in law and founded the company Arcton based on his project. Arcton offers a crowdinvesting platform for startup financing and recently completed its pre-seed financing round. Other projects have developed innovations for satellite data accessibility and mental health.

The new funding from the Hans Eggenberger Foundation covers the years 2024-2026. This contribution to foster innovation at the University of Zurich is extremely important. The Entrepreneur Fellowships act as an accelerator for the translation of ideas from the laboratory to the market. The funded projects in turn act as inspiring examples for other young researchers and the program therefore has an impact beyond the specific funded projects.

The extension of the partnership between the Hans Eggenberger Foundation and the University of Zurich underlines the joint commitment to cutting-edge research and the transfer of research findings into practical applications.
