Collaborate and develop solutions across disciplinary boundaries

To inspire innovation and entrepreneurship (I&E) and support initiatives with potential, the Innovation Hub acts as a central platform, developing offerings and services for UZH students and researchers. This is made possible thanks to partnerships with industry, the public sector, universities, and foundations, as well as collaboration with stakeholders at UZH and from the Swiss innovation network. Achieving this, the Innovation Hub actively promotes I&E, anchors it early on in academic careers, and not only strengthens interdisciplinary education but also creates a fertile environment for fostering entrepreneurial talent.

The Entrepreneurship Bootcamp is a program for students, Doctoral candidates, and postdocs that focuses on the basics of I&E. The first bootcamps were offered in 2019 on digital innovations. Last year, it was redesigned and now has a modular structure: in the first module, participants gain insight into ideation methods and explore entrepreneurial thinking. The bootcamp series comprises a total of three modules that build on each other.

The following provides an exciting insight into how people work together across disciplinary boundaries to develop solutions: UZH News article by Adrian Ritter.

“We want to empower graduates of the program to think and act in an innovative and entrepreneurial way across different disciplines,” says Maria Olivares, head of innovation at UZH. “It doesn’t matter whether they become business owners or employees, the working world of the future will be all about interdisciplinary collaboration in projects and innovations.”
