AskEarth receives 2.26 million CHF for scale-up
With an intuitive search engine for satellite data, the University of Zurich spin-off is putting Earth observation at the fingertips of the public – and has now received 2.26 million CHF to scale up its operations.
askEarth makes geodata accessible to everyone – no specialist knowledge or prior experience required. Global EO data has been collected for around 50 years (the Landsat-1 satellite was launched in 1972), yet there are still significant shortcomings when it comes to converting this data into meaningful and accessible information. askEarth is tackling this problem with its latest AI tool, GIA. With GIA, you no longer have to wade through complex data sets or wait for reports – GIA understands geodata and delivers clear insights in seconds.
The team is now receiving a strong boost: in an initial round of financing, the start-up secured CHF 2.26 million CHF (USD 2.85 million), led by 42CAP with participation from kickfund, Zürcher Kantonalbank, Venture Kick, S2S Ventures and Founderful Campus.
askEarth was founded in 2022 as a UZH spin-off. Co-founder and CTO Simon Grüning was Entrepreneur Fellow Digital supported by UZH Innovation Hub from 2022 to 2023.
Congratulations on this great success!
