Printed Teeth

Available in natural tooth color or transparent, the artificial teeth from smartodont are made with a 3D printer. They’re used as demonstration and practice objects for students, and also serve to test new treatment methods and instruments. They have the same inner anatomy and similar mechanical properties to real teeth. This is made possible by thousands of micro-computed tomography images of real teeth that have been collected at the UZH Center of Dental Medicine.
