09.12.2022Prometheus AG wins Orbital Reef Starter Innovation Challenge

Out of hundreds of applicants, the UZH spin-off Prometheus Life Technologies located at the Switzerland Innovation Park Zurich has been selected as the winner of the Orbital Reef Starter Innovation Challenge.  

“The winners of the Reef Starter Innovation Challenge provided clear commercialization strategies, technology development paths, and plans to leverage Orbital Reef,” said Shahir Gerges, Director of Orbital Reef Business Strategy, BLUE ORIGIN.  

Prometheus emerged from the idea and project developed by Oliver Ullrich and Cora Thiel to produce human tissue in space - a joint venture between the University of Zurich and Airbus Space. They are developing technology for the large-scale production of high-quality human tissue in microgravity to improve drug development and testing, as well as regenerative medicine.
