Female Founders in Switzerland

Women are still highly underrepresented in the startup sector with a share of around 20% female founders and only 10% in science and tech-based startups respectively.

The reasons for these disparities are complex, but the underrepresentation of women in the startup scene is not only a societal and systemic issue for gender equality, but also a missed opportunity for the economy.

This event is part of an initiative which aims to alter the narrative about women entrepreneurs in Switzerland. Are you curious about founding your own company? Do you want to meet inspiring female founders? Then join the Female Founders event.

Elisabeth Stark, Vice President Research at the University of Zurich and a member of the UZH Executive Board, will deliver the welcome speech, which will be followed by insightful fireside chats.

Get to know the startup stories from UZH Alumna Annina Menzi, Daniela Marino (Co-founder of CUTISS, an UZH Spinoff), Valentina Velandia (Co-founder of Capacity) and Sandra Neumann (Founder of Peripal and treasured Jury member for the UZH Bio & MedTech Fellowships).
