The UZH Digital Innovation Grants are an early-stage funding support for digital innovations. They support science-based ideas for our digital society developed at UZH to take the first steps towards implementation.
The purpose of the Digital Innovation Grants is to bring ideas with strong innovation potential off the ground and make such projects fit for further funding and implementation.
The Grants are open to students, researchers and staff at UZH with innovative ideas and a strong motivation to make an impact.
Digital Grants support ideas with a strong innovation potential. It can be used to bring in new competences to the project to validate a product idea, sharpen the plan for implementation and prepare for further funding. Specifically, the Grants may fund activities such as market analyses, user testing, impact assessment and the development of prototypes.
Please note that without a Swiss work permit, the Grant will not be able to pay salaries in to students in Switzerland.
The proposed project must be based on a novel idea, be rooted at UZH and clearly benefit from the UZH environment.
The grants amount to CHF 10’000 and are given for a period of max 5 months to UZH projects.
Successful applicants will be supported by a dedicated innovation coach throughout the project period.
There has been 3 calls for Digital Innovation Grants since June 2021. The next application deadline will be anounced well ahead of time.
Applicants needs to submit a short project description, a 3 min video pitch and his or her CV.
